Been busy with work as usual. Really starting to wonder why I didn’t buy a powerbook and switch to OSX years ago. I know linux offers a lot of freedom, but honestly, it starts to be a pain in the ass after a while.
Plan on buying the new Airport Extreme Base Station as soon as it starts shipping in february. Also since it’s time to replace my aging Shuttle XPC desktop, I plan on going the Mac Mini route. It’s too bad Apple is a little stingy on the default RAM it ships with , 512MB is probably not going to cut it. Just picked up a Wireless Mighty Mouse this weekend and I still haven’t gotten a chance to take it out the box. To summarize, apple owns my ass.

Not much going on lately, just getting used to the macbook. Never realized how much of a fan of the right-click I am. I must say i’m extremely happy with this laptop and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Quicksilver has made my life much easier. I have so many triggers setup I can’t even remember them all.

I recently jumped on the apple bandwagon and bought a spanking new white macbook. I was flirting with the idea of switching to OSX for quite a while now. What really caught my attention was their stylish design, nicer than E17 UI , BSD userland stuff, and not having to run Linux as a desktop every again. After years of using FreeBSD/OpenBSD and a little linux I grew tired of compiling software, spending too much time dealing with stupid package managers (rpm , gentoo’s stupid emerge, apt crap). Suse Linux looked promising and I still run it, but it’s nowhere near as polished as OSX seems to be, although the package management is pretty sweet (for linux). To keep a long story short i’m quite excited about learning about OSX each time I touch it.

It was a good deal, and twice the amount of storage.
